Cinnabon® Partnership with The DAISY Foundation

Our philosophy is to serve those who serve others. Keeping true to the values of the brand, Cinnabon® is a proud supporter of the The DAISY Foundation™.

Established in 1999, The DAISY Foundation’s mission is to recognize the exceptional work that nurses do for patients and families every day. The DAISY, acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, was founded by Bonnie and Mark Barnes of Glen Ellen, California and their family members.

Cinnabon® & The DAISY Foundation Connection

The DAISY Foundation was established after Mark’s son, Pat, died of complications from an auto-immune disease. During his extended hospital stay, Pat had stopped eating until his father, Mark, brought a Cinnabon. Pat asked for a bite, and continued to eat all of it. From then on, Pat continued to eat Cinnabon Classic rolls, and insisted his father bring additional Cinnabons to share with his care nurses.

National Nurse Week

Introduced in 1982, National Nurse Week is celebrated annually in May. The week begins on May 6th, and ends on Florence Nightingale’s Birthday, May 12. During this time, hospitals and healthcare organizations similar to the Daisy Foundation, take the time to recognize the nursing community for the extraordinary care that they provide on a daily basis. Cinnabon is proud to join in the celebration by offering promoting at participating bakeries within the U.S.
